WS Group to aim at hydrogen technology

WS Group with its principal firm WS Wärmeprocesstechnik GmbH in Germany spends almost 10 million euros in the extensive investments into advanced R&D facilities and new buildings for storage and production areas.

Already under construction is a solar powered electrolyzer plant that will produce hydrogen, which will then be used in the WS labs for extensive development and testing of modern climate-friendly heating systems. Also, just about to be commissioned is an ammonia plant to feed the research department with the fossil-free hydrogen derivate. Ammonia has great potential in the future energy system. Carbon-free heating systems and reformer plants have already been developed by WS Group for many years. Today this technology attract rapidly growing attention in different market areas.

In addition to the investments in advanced technologies, the company will spread also to new buildings at an additional site in the town Renningen in southern Germany. The extensive expansions are in line with the constant growth of the WS Group. In particular, the efficient assembly of large plants for fossil-free hydrogen production from biogas as well as other specialized reformer applications will become possible in the new facilities. At the same time, the construction projects are a long-term commitment to the WS Group's home base near Stuttgart.

WS consistently relies on sustainable raw materials for the new properties. The buildings will be built as a timber construction and provide the base for expanded on-site renewable power generation. Wooden facades and lush greenery will also reflect the sustainable approach of the WS Group.
