A Swiss ball valve manufacturer has expanded its production capacities. The high global demand for the PFA ball valve with the patented TrueFloat® technology has had a significant influence on this development. ChemValve-Schmid has been manufacturing high-quality PTFE valves for more than 30 years. Due to the increasing global demand, the Swiss manufacturer has once again expanded the production and nominal size availability of the ChemBall.
The reason for its international success is the patented TrueFloat® technology developed in-house, on which the ChemBall is based. A one-piece PFA jacket encloses the movable metallic connection between the ball core and shaft, thus combining the advantages of a guided and floating ball.
“The ChemBall is used by our customers in the chlor-alkali industry in the USA, among others, and has proven itself successfully there over the last two years”, says Managing Director Christoph Schmid. “We would like to transfer the success we are experiencing with our ChemBall in the USA to Europe.” The Managing Director of ChemValve-Schmid emphasises that ideal manufacturing options have been created for the increased demand and rapid availability.
The Swiss company has doubled its production capacity and opened its own department for the plastic coating of the ball valve. The ball valve, prioritised in the ASME sizes, is now available in the EN nominal sizes DN 15, 20, 25, 40, 50, 80 and 100. From the first quarter of this year, the two nominal sizes DN 32 and 65 will be added and from the second quarter, the sizes DN 150 and 200 will be available.
