Pump manufacturer with successful sustainability project
The sustainability project of the British Tsurumi subsidiary is a strong signal in favour of environmental protection.
Since the beginning of the year, the UK branch of the Düsseldorf-based company Tsurumi has been planting a tree for every pump sold. The aim is to reduce its own ecological footprint and contribute to the preservation of the environment.
2,200 trees have already been planted this year - an entire forest covering several hectares. Tsurumi is not tackling the sustainability project alone; a charitable organisation is also supporting the project. “As the climate crisis is being felt around the world, manufacturers should take more action to minimise their impact on the environment”, says Matthew Hill, Managing Director of Tsurumi Pumps UK. “Our pump technology has been setting standards since 1924. Now we want to do the same for environmental protection.”
Sustainability is not just an empty phrase for Tsurumi: Almost all pumps for clear, waste and wastewater as well as the submersible aerators and agitators of the brand with the blue water vortex in the logo are technically designed for a long service life. Design, choice of materials and ease of repair play an important role in this. The record is held by a submersible pump from the rental programme that has been in use for 38 years.
