Oumingzhuang Biological Technology (OMZ) has installed a valve solution from GF Piping Systems in the construction of the latest generation of its ion exchangers. This installation aims to reduce wastewater discharge and increase efficiency. Based in Tianjin, the company specializes in process technology used in bioplastic production.
In 2020, OMZ seized the opportunity to further expand the volume and efficiency of the 5th generation of its ion exchangers, with the goal of reducing water usage and wastewater discharge for its clients. Technical solutions were required that guarantee high reliability in acidic environments and can be integrated into a modern automation system.
OMZ and GF Piping Systems installed 5,000 valves during the project across seven parallel ion exchangers. By using DN50 valves, it was possible to implement smaller dimensions while maintaining the same flow performance, allowing OMZ to reduce the size and weight of the installations. Once installed, the valves achieved higher efficiency, a 40% reduction in wastewater discharge, and a 30% increase in resin material usage.
Zhang Tianti, General Manager at OMZ, is pleased with the results of the collaboration: “We look back on a ten-year partnership with GF Piping Systems, and their products have significantly impacted our success. GF Piping Systems is a reliable partner, and we look forward to continuing this cooperation in areas such as biotechnological fermentation or lithium extraction in salt lakes. Together, we aim to drive sustainable industrial development.”
Wang Yingjie, Senior Sales Manager, Energy Key Account Sales at GF Piping Systems China, adds: “Our goal is to strengthen our business with a focus on sustainability, and social and technological progress. Bioplastic made with lactic acid plays a crucial role in replacing petroleum-based plastics in everyday products. We are therefore proud to have delivered more than 100,000 valves to OMZ over the course of our partnership.”
