Makstil runs casting operations in auto-start mode

Inteco has completed the finalization of the slab caster upgrade at Makstil, situated in Skopje, Republic of North Macedonia. This upgrade project commenced in early 2023 when Inteco received the order.

The initial phase of the upgrade involved the installation of Inteco’s automated bath level regulation (MLM) featuring a new ledge-type eddy-current measurement system. This installation now enables the commencement of casting operations in full autostart mode.
Furthermore, as part of the modernization process, an automated powder-feeding system with blue-light measurement capability was also integrated. These advancements have effectively replaced manual procedures at Makstil, thereby enhancing the repeatability of the process and facilitating comprehensive records for continuous quality improvement.
