NAMUR has published the new working group position “Requirements for the next generation of Ethernet APL devices and components”. This publication was the result of cooperation between all working groups and specialist areas of the interest group that deal with Ethernet APL, as well as the NAMUR APL Task Force. The position paper can be downloaded free of charge.
Ethernet APL is the key to the digitalization of the process industry
Ethernet APL is a key technology for the digitalization of the process industry. A limited number of Ethernet-APL devices are already available today, enabling the realization of Ethernet-APL-based installations. For broad market acceptance in the future, however, the entire device portfolio must be available, including advanced functions for safety and security.
