With the new Digital Ecosystems & Smart Services (DESS) platform, the ZVEI is providing decisive impetus for the digital transformation of the industry. The aim of the initiative is to strengthen dialogue between companies and drive forward the integration of IT and OT. The focus is on developing practical solutions to jointly master the major challenges of digitalisation.
Integration of IT and OT is necessary
The ongoing digitalisation of industry requires IT and OT to be closely interlinked in order to unleash new efficiency potential and innovations. Key technologies such as artificial intelligence, data ecosystems, the digital product passport (DPP) and cyber security play a central role in this. Addressing digital megatrends is not only relevant from a technological perspective, but also in view of increasing regulatory requirements. The ZVEI sees it as its task to support companies in successfully implementing these trends. In this way, they can not only fulfil the legal requirements, but also secure their competitiveness in the long term.
