NAMUR has a new Chairman of the Board in Tobias Schlichtmann. He succeeds Felix Hanisch, who stepped down after a total of seven years at the helm of the interest group. There have also been extensive changes to the rest of the NAMUR Executive Board.
Tobias Schlichtmann is the new NAMUR Chairman
Felix Hanisch has been Chairman of the NAMUR Board since 2017. Due to his new position as head of the Bayer site in Muttenz, Switzerland, he did not stand for re-election at this year's NAMUR General Assembly. His successor will now be Tobias Schlichtmann, who has worked at BASF for 16 years and has been a member of the NAMUR Board of Directors since 2021. Tobias Schlichtmann is currently Senior Vice President Technical Expertise at BASF.
Igor Stolz and Frank van den Boomen resign from the board
However, there are not only changes at the top of the interest group, NAMUR is also welcoming new faces to the rest of the Board. Igor Stolz (Evonik) and Frank van den Boomen (Covestro), two long-standing members of the Board, are leaving for professional reasons. They will be replaced by Dr Niels Kiupel, Evonik, Vice President Smart Operations, and Sebastian Mahler, Head of Process Control Technology (PCT) at Covestro.
The other Board members Michael Pelz (Deputy Chairman), Carlos Hedler and René Neijts will remain on the Board. Following these changes, the NAMUR Board will be reduced from seven to six members.
