A Swiss manufacturer of butterfly valves for hydropower plants is building a new production hall in the Graubünden municipality of Serneus. The expansion will enable the production and assembly of butterfly valves with a nominal width of up to six meters directly on site.
With this investment, the company is responding to the growing demand for customized solutions for large-scale projects in the hydropower sector. The new hall includes a modern machining center, which is set to be one of the largest of its kind in Switzerland, as well as a 70-ton indoor crane to facilitate the assembly of large valves. The construction was realized with a focus on sustainability in order to offer optimal working conditions and an attractive environment.
“With this investment, we are not only strengthening our location in Serneus, but also creating additional, attractive jobs in the Prättigau region,” explains Sales Manager Andreas Roos. “The new facilities set standards in the production of shut-off valves and increase our flexibility to respond even better to customer requirements.”
The Swiss valve manufacturer has already successfully implemented several major projects, including the Round Butte Project in the USA with three butterfly valves with a nominal diameter of 4.50 meters and the Limberg III project in Austria, in which two butterfly valves with a diameter of almost five meters were used. The portfolio also includes ball valves with nominal diameters of up to 2.50 meters and operating pressures of up to 192 bar.
The new production hall underlines the company's efforts to further expand its position as an international supplier of shut-off valves for hydropower plants.
